RAILROAD SIMULATION LAB

Test Systems

Challenge:

VEHICLE AND RAILROAD TEST AND SIMULATION LABORATORIES

Location:

Michigan
Flodraulic’s RHM group has for many years partnered with a major Asian producer of test and simulation equipment

RHM typically designs and builds servo-grade hydraulic power units and secondary control service manifolds for the supply of power and control to the customer’s test systems.

RHM servo-grade lab systems are manufactured specifically for testing, qualification and acceptance, failure analysis and product development industries and facilities.

These quiet hydraulic packages provide a turnkey high-pressure supply for all servo-hydraulic testing needs. They include an electrical control package, pressure controls, cooling system, remote monitoring or control, and filtration package.

The photo illustrates an example of a system recently built by RHM in Detroit for one of the customer’s railroad car simulation testing systems shipped to Singapore. It features two totally sound-shrouded overhead systems each operating at 180gpm and 3,200psi with a total ambient noise level of approximately 78dBA. For pumps, these systems utilized three 60gpm Eaton integrated motor pump units. The fully integrated electrical control panels are also designed and built by RHM

RHM service manifolds have been developed to provide secondary control and a flexible means to control hydraulic pressure and flow regulation for isolated and individual test stations when sourced from a central system.
